About this Event
The Watson is unique in the world of fellowships, scholarships and grants. The fellowship offers graduating seniors of unusual promise a year of independent, purposeful exploration and travel outside the United States. The vehicle is a particular interest or passion that the applicant wants to explore abroad. The purpose is self-examination and self-discovery through engagement around the world.
The Office of Fellowships and Grants at Whitman College invites you to attend a Watson Fellowship information hosted by Watson committee chair Albert Schueller. Guest speaker Devin Reese, who majored in biology and film and media studies at Whitman, will share his Watson year abroad along with a distillation of his Watson project, "Confronting Entropy: Elder Care in an Aging World." Videos that Devin made during his Watson year will be included in his presentation.
Before the session, be sure to explore the Watson website (https://watson.foundation/fellowships/tj) as well as the projects and bios of Watson recipients, including our own Liam Voorhees '21. Bring questions to the meeting.
