Synopsis: With the price of groceries rising every day, what’s a poor girl to do? Stuff bags of food up her sweater and pretend to be pregnant, of course! Antonia is a woman on the edge, out of work, and out of money. When she gets mixed up in a riot at the supermarket, she seizes the opportunity to stock her empty cupboards. Farce, slapstick, and confusion beget new ways of understanding the world. They Don’t Pay! We Won’t Pay!, a fast and furious political farce about the plight of those in need, tackles issues of inflation, unemployment, and human dignity.
