Precious Metal and Unloved Landscapes: Iron Ore Mining in the Ruhrgebiet 1840-1900

Dr. Peter Christensen, art history and architectural history scholar, presents his research on the rise of the German steel industry and its ecology. 

Dr. Christensen is Arthur Satz Professor of the Humanities, Ani and Mark Gabrellian Director of the Humanities Center, and the Director of the Andrew W. Mellon Program in the Digital Humanities at the University of Rochester.
