Making the World Global: U.S. Universities and the Production of the Global Imaginary

The Whitman College Politics Department is excited to host '99 Alumnus Issac A. Kamola, Associate Professor, Department of Poitical Science at Trinity College back to campus for a public lecture.

Making the World Global examines how relationships between universities, the American state, philanthropic organizations, and international financial organizations shape the reproduction of academic knowledge about the world as global. To do so, this lecture subjects the university to a decolonial analysis—arguing that how we imagine the world is fundamentally shaped by the contested and hierarchical worlds within which such knowledge is produced.

This event is free and open to the public.
