Eric Ashley Hairston will deliver the fourth Judd D. Kimball Lecture in the Transforming Classics Series, titled “Zora Neale Hurston: Watching Whose Gods, Exactly?”
Eric Ashley Hairston is the Associate Dean for the Office of Academic Advising and Associate Professor of Interdisciplinary Humanities at Wake Forest University. He is formerly Associate Professor of English and of Law and Humanities at Elon University. Dr. Hairston’s research areas include American Literature and Classical Literature, especially classical influences on African American and Southern writers, as well as the interdisciplinary study of law and humanities. Dr. Hairston is the author of The Ebony Column: Classics, Civilization, and the African American Reclamation of the West.
