Jonas Myers is a musician, writer, teacher, bicycle wanderer, and proud lifelong Cascadian. He grew up in Seattle, and started gigging on piano and upright bass at age 12. In 2013, he graduated from Whitman College, where he studied literature, creative writing, and math, and played in the jazz ensemble and numerous student bands. He spent most of his twenties working full-time as a jazz pianist in Seattle, performing in many of the city’s most storied venues, including Tula’s, Vito’s, the Royal Room, the KNKX studios, and the Canlis piano bar. In 2020 he released an album of original music, featuring a nine-piece ensemble, called “Driving Home.” During the pandemic, he got back into writing fiction, and decided to get an MFA in creative writing. He completed that degree at Oregon State University in June 2023. He now lives in Port Townsend, WA.
