How can films warn us about environmental catastrophes and move audiences to act?

Join us for a series of four screening sessions on Global Ecocinema, featuring films from Guatemala, Chile, China, and Japan, all with English subtitles, to explore how filmmakers around the world use visual storytelling to address environmental crises, social justice, and ecological responsibility. Each screening will be followed by a post-film discussion, creating space for dialogue across disciplines and perspectives.

This series is made possible with the support of a Global Dialogues Faculty Development Grant and The Center for Global Studies at Whitman College, in collaboration with the Department of Hispanic Studies and Asian and Middle Eastern Studies.
