Walla Walla is one of the first communities to have adopted teaching resilience against Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) as a part of its school curriculum through the Community Resilience Initiative (CRI). Many of the elementary school students that our volunteers mentor have experienced ACEs, which range from having an incarcerated parent to physical and emotional abuse. In providing these students with a consistent and caring mentor, they are supported in building resilience against such trauma. The CRI is hosting a virtual series of ACEs webinars this month as October is Resilience Month! They will offer 5 webinars each Thursday in October at noon. This webinar will focus on Adverse Circuitry Expression through the key concepts of the predictive brain.
