Whitman College welcomes Yuliya Ardasheva to Olin Hall on October 20, 2016 for a lecture titled Studying Bilingual and ELL Education: History, Trends, and Programs of Study at WSU. Dr. Yuliya Ardasheva will discuss the history and trends within bilingual and ELL education and introduce the graduate programs offered at WSU.
Dr. Ardasheva is a Washington State University Assistant Professor in ELL/Bilingual Education. Her research focuses on the interplay between second language and academic development and the contributions of individual differences to second langauge development. She has published her work in TESOL Quarterly, Langauge Learning, and Modern Langauge Journal.
This lecture is sponsored by the Language Learning Center, the Foreign Languages and LIteratures Department, and the Spanish Department.
