The 2015 Juried Winter Art Student Salon provides an opportunity for any student who has created work in a studio course during the 2014 academic calendar to see their work presented in a professional gallery space. Students may submit up to three individual works to the Gallery for consideration. All work is juried by a panel of Studio Art Faculty and the selected artwork displayed. Up to seven merit awards are given to particularly outstanding works, the funds for these awards provided by the Louis B. Perry endowment.
This event has become very popular with the Whitman community not only because of the tremendous diversity of the works exhibited, but because it showcases the creativity and technical skill of students majoring outside of the Studio Arts. It also provides a valuable gallery experience for those students who are art majors and are preparing for their final Senior Thesis Exhibitions.
The exhibition runs from January 24th through February 13th.
