The Whitman Community Fellow Initiative funds a cohort of juniors and seniors to spend an academic year working part-time at a prominent Walla Walla organization to address some of the area’s social, economic and cultural challenges.
As part of the program, Community Fellows meet successful, high-level leaders in Walla Walla and receive professional mentoring, targeted career development guidance, and broad exposure to local organizations in addition to the one where they work. Community Fellows also learn about important issues in southeastern Washington.
Juniors and seniors (who are eligible to work in the US) apply directly to the organization(s) that interest them, not the SEC. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. The final deadline for student applications is Sunday, September 10, 2017.
